Gray Days ;)

Don't you just love rainy days? You know, when the sky is all covered in different shades of gray and the light outside is so close to being perfect and it looks like someone just dimmed the sun...

I know lots of people don't even like (let alone love) rain because it makes quite it difficult to get everything done outside - you need to take an umbrella with you, then you manage to forget it somewhere, your hair gets all messed up and smells funny and so on and so forth... Nevertheless, gray days are right up my street.

I just find that rain makes the world appear so different, almost fairytale like. Maybe it's because I live in the country and the scenery is amazing here. :) My house is a 3 min. walk away from the beach but if you're not in the mood to sit on the beach and listen to the sound of waves you can always go on a stroll through the nearby woods to enjoy a bit of greenery.

Rain is so poetic, don't you think? The sea looks so much darker on rainy days, frightening and beautiful at the same time. Watching raindrops hitting the sea and listening to the sound they create always makes me think about the power of nature and the respect it deserves.

I love letting raindrops fall on my face and hands... It's such a magnificent feeling and if you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend it. :)

Even though I find that country life can be a bit of a drag sometimes, I'm very grateful that I have been raised here and that I'll always have a place like this to come back to.

Let's do this :)

The idea of writing a blog never appealed to me. I couldn't understand why people write them and why anyone would actually read them.
Things change. People change. So did I. :)
Taking a year off from college wasn't exactly my decision but it just kinda happened. I wasn't happy with the situation I was thrown in but I decided to make the most of it.
After a few months of lazyness I have managed to find... well, something - it's not much of a job but it'll do for now. ;)

Anyway...
I've taken all the spare time to focus on my family, friends, love and myself. So far so good...
I have writen a few short stories and been contemplating writing a blog for some time now. I've chosen this title because I have a lot of different interests and would like to share my thoughts and dreams with other people. I really hope that writing this blog will help me open up a bit more and that I'll get to know  people who share all (or at least some) of my interests.
As for gleams... One of the definitions of the term "gleam" is - " a brief beam or flash of light" and I believe our lives are full of them. Gleams are all those little things that make us happy and fulfilled - opportunities we grab, risks we take, trips, books etc.... Depending on your perspective. ;)

English is not my mother tounge but I'm a student of English (and German) and I believe writing is a good opportunity to work on my English and polish it.
So, if you're reading this - feel free to comment on anything, including my mistakes.

My heart is beating like a drum right now but I've decided to post this no matter what.
I'll be happy as a monkey if someone actually decides to read this.
Right now I feel excited and a bit lame, really.
Thank you for reading XXX
